The evening was quiet and dull. The sky was tinted ash, dotted by fluffed clouds and a beige sun barely sinking in. While walking down the sidewalk, he spotted the coffee shop; now noticing he was in need of caffeine. Usually at this time of day, he was completely hyper, and random..but he was tired and worn-out from the all day search of a job. Walking alittle faster he began to tug at the cafe's handle. Slowly entering the warm, cozy building; the little bells placed on the door for holidays rung softly. The sweet aroma of coffee beans, and whip cream fulfilled his scent completely. The cafe was comfy, and elegant leaving people in 'awe.' Looking around her noticed the many faces of people; and as he did this, a girl looking about seventeen smiled at him in a flirty manner. How immature... he thought bitterly as the girl seemed of a whore and such. Did she understand that he was about four years older then her? Him being twenty-one and all. Oh well..she'll learn, when the first asshole she picks up; breaks her heart. Approaching the counter he customized his own drink with a grin. As soon as he ordered he sat among a two person table.
He was dressed in his usual trend; which was most like a teenagers wardobe, considering he was only 21 not an old man. His muscular torso was covered by a white, short sleeve 'Abercrombie' shirt, with the words imprinted on it. Clung loosely to the shirt was a black, half zipped sweatshirt with the word's Volcom among it with the symbol also. Wrapted around his strong legs were his semi-baggy, dark&fadded destroyed jeans recently bought from a clothing store downtown. His smudge covered shoes were tan[which made the smudges more noticable like any other shoe] and american eagle style.
The soft clicking of the waitress proved that she was approaching. She smiled at him happily and sat down his drink with a greeting nod, then the chubby lady walked off. Alex absent-mindedly sipped at it.

Evening already, lovely. Coffee time, no? Clad in a black coat that stopped about mid-thigh, Kerstin stepped into the small cafe, taking in its warm feeling and nature. It was Kerstin’s favorite place to be in New York. It had a great atmosphere, and the aroma was lovely. To tell you the truth, though, Kerstin wasn’t so much of a coffee person. Well, black coffee at least. So loved the smell of it all, but she usually only stopped by for a cappuccino or a cup of Mocha. Hmm, but it was cold outside, and something far better than coffee was ringing through her mind. Hot chocolate. It sounded perfect for a night like this, and though it was not yet ‘night’, it would be getting dark soon.
The glass door behind her shut as Kerstin stepped into the cafe completely. The ringing of the bells brought even more comfort to her. Small steps towards the counter were made until she reached it and set her palms atop it. “A small hot cocoa, please.” She spoke to a present lady behind the counter. Her voice was light and soft, carrying only a few inches from her mouth before breaking off completely, though the woman was still able to hear her. Hmm, it was a wonder how some old folk could do that. After being told that her drink would be delivered to her, Kerstin nodded and turned to find an empty table. Her eyes feel upon one only seconds after taking a glance around the building. The few others that accompanied her that night came into view also. She smiled, more to herself, and took a seat at the table she had chosen. The small black bag that had been resting on her shoulder, slid off and fell onto the floor beside Kerstin’s seating.
Patiently awaiting her cocoa, Kerstin scanned the room, letting her eyes fall on each person for only a second. No, she would stare, that’d be rude. Just then, the presence of another lady drew near, setting the hot chocolate in front of Kerstin, smiling to her, and walking off to disappear behind a door that assumingly led to the small area behind the counter. Kerstin spoke a breathy ‘thank you’ to the lady, who was now not present. Letting her hands grip the warm cup, Kerstin leaned back slightly in her chair, not quite ready to take a sip of the liquid, afraid of it burning her tongue. Not too smart.

Holding the cup near his mouth, he began to blow on it alittle making it seem less hot then it really was. That was his main mistake; he took a drink and nearly spit it out due to the heat that boiled his tounge. He couldn't hold it in his mouth, so he swallowed it with a squint of the eyes as it fell down his throat like lava. What an embarrassing display. He was somewhat childish, but in a way completely retarded. It wasn't his plan to let the drink spoil his tounge with a burn. Oh well, wouldn't it just wash away soon enough? He might as well wait for the pleasureof drinking warm coffee...key word ..'warm.'
His hazel-green radiant eyes searched about; seeing if there were any wittnesses to the crime of which he laid upon his tounge. If there was..none of them were looking now..maybe laughing deep inside at the sight. As he search, he locked eyes on a sight which he would not want to let go. 'beautiful..' was his only thought. Her eyes were splendid..she..was gorgeous. Maybe he didn't believe in love at first sight but she came pretty close. He remember the girl hopelessly flirting with him last week in this cafe, and he was not a bit interested ..her name was ..'ophelia' ..oh well he wasnt that great with names anyway. He just might go talk to her, but he would be put out to be too forward ..or pervert at that. He just let his eyes bounce upon her appearance hoping she was more then just a beauty.[[refering to Kerstin]]

Was it safe now? Were the contents withheld in the Styrofoam cup at the right temperature for her to take in without hating herself for it? It had happened many times before. Timeless enough to the point the raging temperature made her eyes water. This time would be no different as Kerstin carelessly let her lips meet with that of the cups rim, tilting it slightly to the point of letting the steaming cocoa fill her mouth and be swallowed quickly. Too hot and too late, her eyes were already filling with tears. She blinked them away casually, setting the drink back down on the table before her and letting her hands fall onto her jean-hugged legs.
Closing her eyes briefly to relieve them from the rest of the tears, Kerstin felt eyes upon her. She held herself back from opening her eyes to meet with the ones that were scanning her over. Sure, this may seem of a small case of paranoia, but Kerstin was doubtful. Slowly, she opened her eyes and sat in her seat with proper balance, avoiding her want to take a glimpse around the cafe. Crossing her legs, Kerstin looked up and casually took a look around the room. She skimmed the faces of the people around her until her eyes met with another’s. Yep, she knew it. There he was, staring at her as if he owned her. Rude? Maybe. Flattering? Sure.
When their eyes met, Kerstin did not look away abruptly. Instead, she held her stare, mimicking his own with a small smirk present upon her face. Two could play the game, and she was ready for any move.

Much to his surprise; she was smiling at him. Was he that noticed? Fumbling his fingers around, he pondered what next move he'd make; smiling back for starters would work. Tilting his lips into a smirk, he attempted to say 'hi' but decided not to. For all he knew, she could have been meeting someone there, or the seat was saved for somebody else; but then again Alex had a thing for thinking alittle too much ahead. If he sat with her what could possibly loose? Besides a punch in the eye, that is 'if' she was meeting her boyfriend.. Either way he'd just be, being friendly. With an implusive action he released himself from his seat and walked to her table still with a cheesy grin.
"Mind if I acompany you?" he questioned; looking at her excellent eyes. Although most guys go for the body first, he really was stunned by her beautiful eyes. It was like ..heaven. Maybe he'd be embarrassed actually saying that; but doesn't mean he couldn'y think it. Plus her dark, rich hair complemented her gorgeous face, and eyes.

Holding the slight smirk, Kerstin was absent-minded when she realized the boy had stood from his seat as was making his way towards her. Her smile faded rather quickly, and she was sure her face had gone pale, well, paler than it normally was. She sat forwards in her seat, looking away abruptly, only to hear five soft words being spoken from him. She couldn’t look like a fool now, it was not her intentions to, and she wouldn’t. The smile appeared again rather quickly as she glanced up at him. The smile was more like a grin, a wide one...a welcoming one. Kerstin was polite, she always had been, so she was not about to reject his 'friendly' request, after all, he was good looking and she had nothing better to do.
“You may.” She finally answered, the smile still present and her hands making a move to cradle her face after setting her elbows atop the table. She kept her eyes held tight onto him. It seemed as though that was all he was looking at; her eyes. Usually when someone spoke to you, they followed the others lips, but maybe Kerstin just had never really noticed it—and here she goes again, in deep thought about something pointless. Lovely.

Knowing it was rude to stare; he looked away for a second or two and took his gaze off her stunning eyes. With a quick thank-you nod, and sat as he was accepted. Looking at her, he noticed her paleness as if she had seen a ghost. Since she was kind enough to let her sit, he might as well introduce himself. Right? With another implusive thought he smiled widely. "I'm Alex" he said; not sure if he should hold his hand out politely.
He fumbled his fingers around in thought, maybe he had dug an awkward hole for himself..then again maybe not. She seemed somewhat lost in thought; as was he. Silence over came them, and well Alex was born to talk. What was a matter with him. He was in the presence of a beautiful girl.

Alex. Nice name, nice body, kind...wow, it was hard to come across guys like this in the big city. Surprise, surprise. Seeing as he didn’t hold out a greeting hand, Kerstin decided to do the honors. “Kerstin.” She informed him on her name, holding out her pale arm that connected with a hand for him to shake. In her thoughts, Kerstin felt this may be a bit awkward, but she wasn’t going to let it hit that stage. Her life would be a social wreck if she never had the guts to talk to someone freely. Tonight, in the presence of a handsome man, she’d be herself, things would go as they are supposed to, and there would be no worries. Amen.
Mm, but then she’d probably come across a time where she’d humiliate herself, embarrass, whatever you wanted to call it. It was typical Kerstin, and if tonight she was going to be herself, well then, be ready for it.

|OOC: Tis' Okay mine are always short hehe
|BIC: Alex smiled, and took her hand politely into a shake and let go. "Sorry, to interup anything, but I couldn't help it.." he said; giving her an apologetic frown. Although knowing he could not keep the frown forever. His face was actually plain now , with no expression except for interest. "You come here often?" he asked; starting casual conversation. Even though he seemed odd just walking up to the girl, but he couldn't help it..the eyes dragged him to her. Hmm...Kerstin It was a great name, very natural and classy. Yes he was an odd duck, considering he favored poetry, and art along with the people who had the talent to create it.
He removed his hands from his sides, and put his elbows among the table, while connecting both of his hands; in a holding stance while sipping away. He wasn't absent minded now; mainly because he couldn't help but to observe her. Usually he never walked up to a random girl, because she was hot, or sexy. He walked to her; because she looked deeper then that average whore, or easy. She looked intelligent and bound to get some where in life; other then in a guy's pants.

With the gentle shake at hand, literally, Kerstin’s smile widened at his frown. Cute. “Oh, you aren’t interrupting anything, really. Bringing me company is all you are doing, and I can’t argue with that.” She replied to him softy. Does she come here often? Um, yes. All the time, whenever she could. Did she ever mention to anyone how much she loved the place? No, because that wouldn’t be so much of a conversation. “Yeah, I love this place. I come here whenever I can. It brings me to a clam state.” She blurted out, though managed to control its speed from which it was spat out of her mouth. In all, it came out quite casually, but there was humiliation number one of the night. She had never intended on letting him know just how much she liked the place. Pathetic, it was nothing to strike a conversation on, though she concluded that by her words he would be getting to know her quite well.
“So.” She started with a toothy grin and a very interested look. “What happened to bring you here to my table?” she finished with the open question, really wanting to know exactly what had drawn him to her. Most guys had the reputation of a perverted, mind-less, sex whore, so why should this one be different? She wanted to know. We’d call this one, the evaluation.

Alex laughed as she blurted it out, it kind-of reminded him of a cute little girl; hyper in a candy shop. "Well, I love this place too honestly, it is peaceful...and catches the aspects of life that well...the park couldn't even grasp." he said; going into detail. Plus she wasn't foolish to love this place it was simply amazing. Even though she spilled her heart out on the whole coffee thing, he wasn't about to tell her his girly side that consisted of poetry and art, not even about to mention the fetish for writing. What bought him to her.. well that wasn't hard . It wasn't in a perverted manner of course. He didn't even really catch sight of the girl's figure; and did that really matter. She was skinny..thats fine with him.
Looking at her eyes then back to her; he smiled widely. "Well first off" he said, adding a dramatic pause and deep sigh like he was about to confess love for her. "You have the most, beautiful eyes I've ever saw...a breath taking smile, cute flirty face.. and hair that could knock a hair-stylest out...don't be too flattered though.." he said; trying not to sound so obessive. "Appearance isn't everything..and well it looks like you go beyond that" he admited; nodding his head in agreement.

Good. Someone who loved this place almost, if not more, than she did. That made her feel a lot better, really. “Yeah, I mean, I step into this place and it is as if all my troubles are left outside that door.” She remarked, her eyes shifting towards the door in which she had entered the cafe. All was true though. It could be the worst day, emotionally or physically, but once Kerstin steps into the building, a rush of sensation fills her body, leaving her feeling cleansed and pure. Hmm, wow, deep? Oh yeah. She then thought back to that day at the galerie with Scarlett. Her love for this cafe was very comparable to that of photography. Though not many knew of her fascination for it, it was her dream to major in art and become a photographer. Her dreams were big though, and she was unsure of their outcome, but she would keep at it.
Her eyes. Where has she heard that one before? Yes, many times she had received the compliment and was quite used to it. It almost bored her, really. But wait, when he said it Kerstin actually...perked up a bit. It was amazing what one could do to you. His words were sweet, and she suddenly didn’t feel like they were all lies, as most of them turned out to be. “Aw, you are too sweet. But you are right, appearance isn’t everything, though I’d say you’ve got that down.” Was she flirting? Yes, maybe, but she wouldn’t take it way out of control, she wasn’t really that kind of person, he seemed to be getting that too.

This place actually reminded him of a poem once heard in college, in his creative writing class. His favorite class. The poem was 'Amor Intellectualis' by the famous poet 'Oscar Wilde' It went like ..
Oft have we trod the vales of Castaly And heard sweet notes of sylvan music blown From antique reeds to common folk unknown: And often launched our bark upon that sea Which the nine Muses hold in empery, And ploughed free furrows through the wave and foam, Nor spread reluctant sail for more safe home Till we had freighted well our argosy.
It was peaceful somewhat like the cafe. Plus being in the preasence of her..was like bouncing around, heaven. "It's okay ..I'm not much of a flirty person either." he comforted; although it was a truthful statement.

So, he wasn’t all that flirty either. That was good to know, she guessed. He seemed to be lost in thought. She could tell he was thinking of something by the look in his eyes. It made her chuckle ever so slightly as she took her drink into hand and sipped it. It was long after warm now, setting at an almost cold temperature. Pretty nasty, but she would deal. All the talking and interest had made her forget about it. How was she to deal with this one? She couldn’t figure him out. He was very gentleman-like, but it all could have easily been a big joke. There was still something about him that lingered over her head, as if saying he was all true, but maybe that is only what she wanted. She hated this; she always got in too deep. She needed to learn how to take control. It’d start tonight. She’d control whatever feelings this boy brought upon her. He had to be more than just a pretty face, she was waiting for him to prove this to her.

Bouncing out of his thoughts; he looked at Kerstin with a plain smirk. It wasn't flirty, nor was it evil..just normal. The situation was now getting awkward as the pair just sat there silent as hell. He could tell what she thought of him..another asshole out of the crowd..the big jokester. Even though; he was a jokester, he wasn't joking about her. She really was the most gorgeous thing he had seen in person. Especially in New York, C'mon ..the city is full of fake plastic girls that are looking for a good time, not a love story. Sure he was somewhat like a girl's thinking terms but couldn't he wish to one day have a family to play baseball with his son and teach his daughter how to act like a tom-boy. It was just the perfect thought.
A gorgeous wife, that seemed to never age; beautiful kids that are depended and needy but not spoiled . Everybody wanted that.. a career that's never lost, or disliked. A house wife, that took care of the kids, but yet did what she loved. A nice house, with a big backyard and a golden lab..chasing the kids around. He'd have that someday.. "I want to know about you.." he said randomly; looking into her eyes, which were ...like he had thought many times.. stunningly amazing.
