Hmm, odd, someone wanted to get to know her. That was a change; she knew then that he was more than just good-looking. She chuckled lightly, letting her eyes shift to the right before linking back to his. “Um.” She muttered, lovely. Nice way to start. She didn’t know where to start though, there were plenty of things she could tell one, but she might get all wrapped up in it and tell the other something they wouldn’t care to know. Oh well, she’d wing it. “Well, I am nineteen, I live here in New York with my father and brother, we moved her from Florida not too long ago, and I love life.” She stated, listing things off as she thought back and glided through her life. Yep, that was basically it, well, not really. She could go into depth, but what did he really want to know. Was she willing to tell him what she wanted to do when she got older, which was really like...now. Hm, sure.
“And, well, I want to major in art. I love photography and ever since I was a little girl, when my mother bought me my first camera, I fell in love with it. I do not know how far my dream with go, but I’m holding on.” Well, that subject was down. Whether or not he would want to continue it was his choice, though she was interested in knowing what he wanted to do, and maybe just some vital stats. “And a little about you?” she questioned, giving him a ‘look’ with her eyes. She could use her eyes against him, now knowing that he liked them and all.

Listening to her, he gave a few nods of his head and followed along with her. When she finally told him what she wanted to do, he caught his eyes with hers again. What was the chances of that..a girl that like art also, and well she was perfect. He couldn't deny that; and of course he wouldn't. "Art is awesome.." he said; hoping she'd be just as interested in him as he was in her. He hadn't been anything but real with her. Which was what he normally was..true. Although he wouldn't go as far as hurting someone's feelings.
As she asked him about himself, he sighed with a thinking notion. "Well, I'm Twenty-One, I've lived in New York all of my life..My family moved to California about a few years ago..maybe just two." he caught his breath for a moment; and thought also. "I have a dog named Bugz ..yes like the bunny, He is rather large now but his breed is golded lab.. I hope to start a career in Teaching..Kindergarden though." he said truthfully, not knowing where to stop.

Art was beautiful. Though Kerstin could not sit down and draw something, she could take her creativity into pictures. The outdoors was a great love of hers too, she was as active as any nineteen year old could possibly be, considering she grew up with two guys. She was used to having a good party-time, but she had her own calm self that liked to get away from it all every once in a while. Though New York would not have been her first pick as to where to move to, Kerstin also dreamed of moving somewhere near the mountains. Everything the mountains gave off was great. The views, the romantic, yet calm vibes, and the oxygen--so pure and breathable.
Oh, and California, now that he mentioned it. The beach was lovely too. Teaching? That wasn’t one she heard everyday. “Really? Teaching?” she asked, almost star-struck by his choice, or want, of career. She didn’t see it as a bad thing; he just didn’t look like the teaching type. But then again, looks weren’t everything. He definitely had the potential and attitude to be a teacher. He had all the right words down too. Hmm, thinking about it actually made her think up of how great a teacher he could be. “Interesting, but I can actually see you standing before a bunch of little kids, trying to inspire them and help them to live life to its fullest. Letting them know of the obstacles they would overcome.” She spoke genuinely. Maybe this was a bit beyond kindergarten, but it seemed to fit in one way or another.

Art was a grand thing. Yes he may not have the patience for the such talent, but he really could draw when he got into it. Mainly why he'd want to become a teacher. Pictures trigger the mind, more then words, and if he could draw what he taught then well..It'd stick into their heads. Yes he was thinking more along the lines of sixth grade, but he adored children, hoping to have a few of his own someday. "Teaching has always been a passion of mine" he admited; in hopes she wouldn't think oddly of it. "I have a method, that if you teach by picture not word, they'd listen and remember better, all you have to do is have fun with it, to make it enjoyable right?" he said in a question like manner, but more of a statement. He loved little kids, he couldn't help the feeling.
"Well, I can picture myself up there too, but however I only wish to inspire them." he said; honestly. When he was young he was homeschooled through out elementary, and there was a downside to it..; the lack of socialization. Maybe that is why he was a chatterbox today.
He fumbled his fingers around hoping she would tell him alittle about her career and dreams in detail. After all what was there to lose? Besides a stranger's thoughts. It wasn't like he was a stalker or anything. Plus he liked her company considering she was the type of girl that could hold a decent conversation. Out of random he got this streak, that maybe he was delighted and in like with this girl he had just met. "Would it be alright if I take you on a date sometime" he grinned; in hopes of an answer that was 'yes.'

“I agree to your references of making it an enjoyable learning experience. When you think about it, it is all you really want. No one likes to be bored to tears, but knowing they need to get something through their minds. And it bothers me to have people complaining about how their jobs are so stressful and what not. I never saw the point in doing something you didn’t enjoy.” She was babbling, she knew it, but she was so caught up in the moment she couldn’t stop. She’d hold herself back for a bit now, though, letting Alex have a say in all she was thinking. It had been a while since Kerstin had had such and engaging conversation with someone. He was truly a unique individual, finding all of his interests, well, interesting. She smiled at her thoughts, and smiled at him. He was definitely likeable and far easy to talk to. Her smile faded slightly, still leaving a hint of joy present on her face.
By now, Kerstin had forgotten about her drink. It was probably now beyond cold, but she didn’t care so much. She wasn’t all that thirsty anymore. She felt cozy, warm, and fitted in this environment. Alex was helping quite a bit too.
Sudden shock came over Kerstin, though she kept it cool. She wasn’t expecting to be asked out, but as she thought about it, she concluded it was most likely to come. “A date? Yeah, sure.” She stated, matching his grin as she thought up some ways to carry out the conversation. Sure she could go on about the whole photography business, but she’d probably bore him with her endless words. So, she’d leave this question as open as possible, “Anything else you want to know about me?”

"A job that isn't worth your time, is wasting up your life" he said; honestly. His face usually always held a grin, but now it was just a slight grin. He was calm, in peace with the surroundings and Kerstin. The date thing might have been abit too forward, but it was worth the embarrassment of asking. She was way more then just a 'horn dog' version of a girl. She was intelligent, down-to-earth, and catch the true aspects in life. He liked it..alot. The conversation seemed as if it would never die, which was odd when first meeting someone. It was like they had known eachother for a while, and not doubting the person in judgement or dislike. It was like a neutral conversation that he was obliged to be in.
He fittled his thumbs around eachother thinking of what he could ask her next. He was interested in her job, but she didn't seem like the one to share. "Really..that's great" he said as she accepted the offer..maybe he was alittle too excited with himself. He nodded at her for the questions comment and thought quickly of what he'd like to know of her. "What are your hobbies, and well what do you like in a guy" he said; trying not to sound forward. It wasn't like he'd change to fit her description.

For a second, Kerstin lifted her gaze from the boy who sat across from her and let them dwindle upon the window near-by. Night had fallen and some stars were now present. With a straight face, she looked back at Alex, thinking about what he had said, but only taking it into agreement, nothing more. She was silent for a moment, thinking back to who the last person was, besides Alex, whom she had told about her dream of being a photographer. She believed it was her father, if not, her brother. She rarely told anyone about it, not wanting others to believe she could become all she said she would, and then have the dream collapse and not happen. She had no intention of having others watch her fall and drift away from her wants. It’d make her seem full of herself, she thought.
Hobbies. Weren’t they the same as interests? Either way, she had them. “Well, having grown up with two guys for the most part of my life, I became very active, and as my dad would say a ‘tomboy’. I don’t argue with his labeling of me because I do enjoy hanging with the guys, watching sports and all that, but I know that I have a side of me that prefers the outdoors as a simple for of enjoyment.” She commented, her eyes falling from his to eyeball the table that her palms were not facedown on. Keeping her gaze focused on the table and its grain-like pattern, Kerstin continued, “I love to camp. There have been numerous times in which my father, my brother, and I have taken a weekend trip somewhere in the mountains. I, of course bring my non-professional camera, and take plenty of pictures. We hang out, fish, hick, roast marshmallows, and have a pretty damn good time. But it has been about a year since our last trip. I honestly miss it, but my dad doesn’t have some much time on his hands anymore, and my brother can’t be bothered with it.” She finished, letting her eyes fall back into his with so much as a half-hearted smile. There was no need to get all emotional, for this was not an emotional story, but there was feeling to it, anyone could see that.

"Camping is a blast, especially hiking..the funnest part in my opinion." he said scanning around the place, his eyes falling to where hers left revealing the night sky. They really had been there long, Enjoying her company made time pass by. He loved it, it was like talking on the phone for hours about random stupid things, that made everyone laugh. He was falling for this girl, and he knew why. She fit right into his defintion of the perfect girl. She was everything he had ever wanted all in one. It was like the makings of ..god himself. Yes he wasn't really all into religion but at this point it was a figure of speech. She was tom-boyish, which meant she could kick it with the boys, and cute which meant great for a formal date or just laying down watching tv.
He smiled at her with a passion in his hazel-green eyes that couldn't keep themselves off of her. "You know.." he said; pausing as he thought of the right words. "You're an amazing girl, I cant believe I happened to run into you at a Cafe.." he proclaimed. He bumped her knee with his own, but not on purpose..trying to pretend like it didn't happen. Were these butterflies that filled with stomach, normal like? or maybe abit more? He, himself didn't even understand.

Kerstin nodded, speechless to a point where she wanted to say something, thus nothing would come out. They had so much in common, it was strange how she felt. Usually she’d be head over heels for a boy by now, but he kept her calm, cool, collected. The three C’s that all summed it up. She was, in fact, falling for him, but a part of her wanted to deny it, thinking she’d only end up heart-broken, after all, that was how all the past ones ended. And by ‘past ones’ she meant, hmm, two other real relationships. She had gotten in deep with both of them, but only to have her heart pulled from her and torn. She knew to be careful, but sometimes she couldn’t help herself. So far, this was different, she felt something for him, but she also felt...safe. Weird, yeah, just a bit.
‘An amazing girl.’ She repeated to herself in her mind. His words made her smile and the bump from his knee to hers sent goose bumps down her arms and legs; they may have even been visible, though she was not going to look at her arms to see. “You’re a pretty amazing guy. It is strange how you and I have so much in common. I wonder how we haven’t met before.” She stated. “I’m glad me did though.” She added softly, a feeling of appreciation over coming her.

Alex yawned; taking a glance to the clock that was held high above the window. It was late, and well the sleepiness was getting to him, on top of that they were getting just about ready to close the cafe up. Although, looking as if they were the only ones acompaning the building; besides the employees. In an apologetic manner, he smiled. "Really it's late we both should get going, I can tell the workers are getting somewhat mad at us" he said; with a few chuckles. Grabbing a piece of paper he quickly wrote down his number and Name.. and handed softly to her. "Here's my number..umm maybe a dinner date tomarrow night?" he questioned with a slight flirty smirk.
He fumbled around in his pockets and grabbed a ten dollar bill, leaving it on the table as a tip. It was the least he could do, since the workers were annoyed with the pair for staying so long, making their off-time prolonged. Getting closer to her, as he stood he leaned across the side of the table and kissed her cheek in a friendly manner, nothing more. "Thank you for letting me stay with you." he said; and smiled. He attempted to walk away when he turned back around. "Nice meeting you Kerstin" he said; making the name sound special and slow.

Clutching the small slit of paper within her hand, Kerstin nodded at his comment of questioning about the dinner date the following evening. It sounded nice and she was up for it; she’d give him a call. As he stood and pecked her cheek, Kerstin grabbed her bag from the floor and brought it upon her lap, folding up the paper with his number on it, and slipping it inside. She smiled back at him as he started for the door, watching him turn and state her name. “You too.” She replied softly with a small flutter of her hand. She then glanced towards the employees and noticed their expression, understanding what Alex had meant by their expressions. She nodded at them, letting them know she was on her way out.
Pulling her bag onto her shoulder, Kerstin grabbed the half-empty, in her opinion, cup of cocoa and started for the door, slipping the cup into a trash can on her way out. As she stepped outside, a sudden gush of wind whipped across her face, sending a slight shiver to thrust over her petite figure. She glanced back at Alex once more before sitting herself down on a bench to wait for a taxi, seeing as she had arrived in one. She yawned as she looked down the street, eyeing various cabs and hoping one would stop for her. She knew one would, they always did. And no, she did not mean that in a way of attraction, it was simply because the cab driver’s needed the money, she supposed.
