Darcy smiled as she played with her new miniature collie puppy, Duke. He looked so cute and innocent in the snow, it was funny how he would run and jump so he could dive into the snow.
Darcy had just gotten Duke that morning. She had gone to go sign up for some classes at NYU and when she got home there was a puppy in her room. Maybe her Mom had something on her concise when she bought it for her.
Darcy picked the puppy up and said "Come on Duke, I'm tired." She then walked to a bench and sat down as the dog yipped at all of the other animals in the parks. Darcy laughed and looked down at her clothes she was wearing a black bomber type jacket and a long sleeve Abercrombie &Fitch shirt and a pair of Hollister pants that were ripped in various places.
She was kind of in the mood to talk to someone but she didn't see anyone in the park that she knew or wanted to talk to. Sure she could have gone and made a new friend but she really didn't feel like it today.

Ryan was in a good mood. What guy didn't like to have girls jumping all over him? It was really nice, once you backed away and didn't have to actually say or do anything. He liked girls when he didn't have to talk to them. He knew it was twisted, but still. Admiring was much better than people tearing each other's eyes out because you didn't want both of them.
Um, yeah, I guess so.
He hand taken he and his younger sister's german shepherd puppy out. His name was Noah--she had chosen, not him. I mean, Noah. Seriously. People did not think manly or intimidating when they heard the name Noah. It sounded like some little boy's pet teddy bear. Ryan tended to think about things like this.
It was pretty cold out, so his jeans weren't ripped--just dark wash, though this time men's True Religion and not the usual Diesel. He wore a white tee shirt, with a little black soot stain on the shoulder. Over this was a black leather Gucci Pour Homme leather jacket, padded inside with navy blue flannel to keep him warm. Gift from his mother.

Darcy looked up and saw Ryan; he also had a puppy with him. Darcy scooped up Duke and then walked over to Ryan. Duke was wriggling around in her arms like a mad dog as she said "Hey Ryan, new puppy?"
Darcy the put Duke gently down and clipped the leash to his red color. The puppy jumped around excitedly and went to go say hello to Noah.

The dog was being annoying, running in circles, chasing its tail, and biting Ryan's thigh. He resisted the urge to curse loudly at it--probably something involving the word dick. Instead he looked up, focusing on the freezing winter air as it blew across his face.
He wouldn't ever admit it out loud, but he loved New York City this time of year. It was gritty, sure, but he loved that part of things. He hated the pretty little facade that came up at Christmas time, but he liked the snow and the gifts, and the spiked eggnog.
He looked up as Darcy spoke. "Um. Hi." He blushed again. Another girl that wanted him! Shit! He couldn't handle it much longer. "No, I've had him forever. Noah." He looked as her tiny puppy nearly attacked his bigger dog.

Darcy beamed as she watched the two dogs’ play in the white snow. "Noah, that’s a cute name." Darcy put up her hood and pushed her hair into it as she said "His name is Duke."
Darcy giggled and said "I picked out that name when I first wanted a dog, I just got him today." She then looked over Ryan's strong facial features; maybe she would play hard to get with him. If she didn't why not just give her one of those red easy buttons from staples and say ‘Hey, you’re a whore Congrats!!’
That wasn’t her style even though everyone else thought so. Why did she care so much about what people thought of her, I mean that’s only there opinion.

He ran a hand through his hair, looking at the ground. The twinkling white lights on the trees were annoying him. They kept blinking on and off, which was putting stars in his eyes. Damn New York City. "Um. Thanks. My sister picked it out... from The Notebook, or whatever." It was some romance movie that both his sisters were obsessed with and that he refused to ever watch. How was he supposed to have any degree of manhood after watching that sop? He much preferred The Matrix.
"Oh. That's good. Dogs are a lot of work, but they're great." Whoa. He had actually gotten out a whole sentence without saying 'um', 'er,' or 'yeah.' Maybe he was getting pretty good at this. Sure.

Darcy nodded and said "Oh, yeah. That was a really good movie." She looked over at the huge trees decked out in lights and decorations and said "Uh, wow those lights are kind of blinding huh?" She then picked up Duke and said "Want to go over there or something where it's not as bad?"
The place where she was pointing too was the playground, there were two swings open and Darcy had wanted to get on them.
