The ice. The fresh, chilly air. She loved the ice rink.
Probably as much as she loved singing.
The young girl had come, early in the morning, for a quick skate. She felt right in her element. Besides, no one was here yet. She had the whole rink to herself, so she grinned.
Ophelia walked up the steps until she reached a booth. Inside was the sound system. It wouldn't hurt to put some music on, now would it? Reaching for a disc on her bag, she grabbed it and inserted it in the music player. She clicked on play, and smiled when she heard the music play. It was a simple song, with a nice, bouncy beat to it.
Going down the steps, she stopped to tie her skates. They felt loose. Taking a deep breath, Ophelia opened the door for the rink and stepped on the ice. Closing her eyes, she let herself glide along the music. Taking it slow.
Blonde hair had been tied in a loose, side ponytail, so it wouldn't go over her face, yet her bangs always did. A white headband was tied upon her hair, keeping some strands on hair neat. The girl's lips curled into a smile, on which she's just applied a dab on pink lipstick.
Ophelia was wearing grey skinny jeans, hugging her thin legs tightly. A skinny white belt was tied around her jeans, above on her torso was a bright yellow v-neck t-shirt. It was covered up by a knit white sweater, which kept the girl warm.

Darcy walked into the rink with her skates in her hand. She wasn't those renting kind of people, she had her own. Hell she went here so much that the workers knew her by name.
On this little outing she was wearing a white off the shoulder sweater and dark blue jeans. Her brown hair was tied up in a pony tail, holding it was a simple white ribbon. Darcy's make-up was looking pretty natural today, as it usually does. She heard a pretty snazzy song and decided to skip and hop to the beat as she was going to a bench to put on her skates.
She laughed as she did so and then sat down to tie on her skates. After lacing the white skates up her took off the guards and then walked to the door to the ice cold rink.

Tugging already cold hands into gray gloves, Zanna entered the ice rink. Blowing a breath of hot air in front of her, she couldn't help but chuckle. Sure, it was childish, but she was amused by when her breath made clouds. It was almost like...she was a more important figure. Someone that could actually make clouds, even though in truth she probably just looked pathetic. But since when did she care about how she appeared to others? Uh, lets think...never?
With a pair of black ice skates--yes, black, she'd made sure--tied over her arm, she looked almost like an iceskater. Of course, the fading blue t-shirt with a picture of a Dinosaur and the word "Grrawr!" in a white speech bubble might have thrown that off. But the darkwash skinny jeans brought it back...but then the oversized black Hawk Nelson hoodie just completely ruined it. The ice-skateresque image, that is. She didn't care, though.
Tying the skates onto her feet, Zanna now tugged on a plain gray beanie and breathed another breath of air. Oh, yea. She should probably pay for the session now. "Um. Here's ten. Just keep the change," she said, after having walked over to the boy behind the counter. He gave her a soft smile and a wink, and if it hadn't been for the cold, which'd already pinkened her cheeks, one would have been able to see her blush.
After smiling back, Zanna made her way to the ice and stepped on. Ah, returning back home.

Ophelia stopped by the edge of the rink, looking at the new girls who'd stepped on the ice. She skated over, smiling.
As she skated, she felt she was losing her balance. But right as she slipped, the lucky girl managed to keep it.
"Woah." she said, giggling. "That was close.."
She gave a friendly smile, her grey eyes looking over at the girls. "I'm Ophelia." she told them.

A light blue-hued gaze drifted over the expanse of ice rink, noting how empty it was. It would have been completely deserted, if not for the girl who was skating upon the ice and a few others who'd just arrived. His eyes lingered on neither, as he'd really just come to relax and be by himself, though nice company wouldn't be rejected. Who didn't enjoy a good conversation every now and then?
Raking his fingers through his light earth brown hair, he lightly messed the lightly curled locks, but they reverted back to their previous state just as easily. Allowing his hand to fall from his face, Eric lightly wet drying lips, pushing away from the lip of the rink. Lazily skating backward for a spell, he tucked the buds of his small music player into his ears, blocking out the music that was streaming from the speakers around the rink. The music selection from the booth wasn't bad, but it wasn't what he wanted to listen to at the current moment. No, he wasn't depressed, but it wasn't incredibly bubbly either. Tucking the thing away into the right pocket of his dark blue jeans, he turned, skating the correct way so as not to bump into anyone. He didn't want to cause an accident, and Lord knew he wasn't about to pay no one's medical bill. And forbid someone sue him...
Messing with the rims of his black turtleneck sweater's sleeves, he glided easily upon the ice, almost as if he was made for it. In a sense he was, though track came more easily. Moving his feet in a complicated manner, he somehow managed to keep himself balanced, and not take a faceplant. Gently bobbing his head to the beat, he smiled slightly at the people he passed, forever the friendly one. Yeah. Even when he wasn't in the best of moods, he still found it within him to not be rude. Mostly...

Zanna nodded, small grin coating her face. "Nice to meet ya, Ophelia," she replied, not wanting to hold her hand out yet, in case she had spontaneously lost her balance. Once she was sure she wasn't going to fall, she replied, "I'm Zanna," and held out a gloved left hand. Feeling slightly wobbly, she pulled her feet closer together, steadying herself and letting out a nervous breath.
But she managed to stay upright.
"Are you new here, too?" she asked. Sure, Zanna was no longer extremely new, but she was still...not in the swing of New York. And, not surprisingly, not used to how cold it was here. Snow all the time...and all that stuff.
Shivering slightly, more from...well, something that was in no related to cold. Anyway, after shivering, and shaking he new acquaintance's hand, she put her hands into the pockets of her jacket. Sure, she had on gloves, but they didn't stop all cold from permeating the tight knit and reaching her hands. They just didn't.

Ice skating. She was never really all that wonderful at it, but something made Lynette really want to come out here this morning and go for a skate. So here she was at the ice rink which a pair of light brown ice skates tied onto her feet. As a child the color of the ice skates she owned always used to be white, but she'd gotten a pair of light brown ones for some reason, a beige sort of color. Her dark hair which fell in curls this morning was pulled out of her face with a clip though some strands still fell into those hazel eyes of hers. A pair of beige corduroy pants were worn on the girl as well as a darker brown turtle neck as well as a brown plaid jacket over that. The brown of the jacket though wasn't as dark as the dark brown-red of her shirt. She was soon on the rink and skating, it took her a minute to get into it as it always did when she got on the ice for the first time in a while, but she very quickly got into the groove and was skating along the sleek ice with ease.

Darcy smiled as she exclaimed "Oh my gosh, are you okay?" She then skated closer to the girl and brushed off her shirt for her. "I'm Darcy by the way."
She looked around the rink and saw that more people were beginning to arrive. There was a guy that was just trying not to watch them which she found sort of funny in a way. She snikred then retured her attention to the little group in front of her.

"Nice to meet you guys.." she said, a frienldy smile curling on her lips. She ran her hand through her blond hair, trying to push back the bangs off her face. But like always, they simply fell down once again.
She looked at Zana, nodding softly. "Kinda." she started, "I lived here all my life, but like, I moved two years ago to go to school in California." she said, "I came back I coulnd't take it anymore."
She noticed two new people come, a boy and a girl. Hm. Maybe they'd come and talk. She was always up for new friends.

Darcy shrugged and said "I have lived here my whole life." She skated in little cirlcles and said "Do you come here often?" She would love to have a skating buddy to comw with her. it got quite lonely sometimes.

Ophelia watched the girl skated and thought to herself it would be best to stay like this, not moving, since well, she might fall on her ass if she did.
"Yeah. I love it." she told Darcy, "I don't know.. I guess it's something about the cold air it just.. It makes me feel alive." she said, giggling as she thought how silly that sounded.

Darcy smiled and said "Yeah, It does make you feel alive." She then stopped causing little pieces of ice shedding to go flying. She then smiled and said "Well, if you want we can come together sometime." She reached into her pockets and pulled out her coveted juicy side-kick. "Here, put your number in it."

"...back to the beginning."
Halting his movement on the ice upon hearing a Hillary Duff 'hit' flowing into his ears, Eric arched an eyebrow, looking down at his music player. Something was definitely wrong here, as he didn't like this girl's music. Not because he was following most every one else, but only because they...well, to put it bluntly -- sucked ass. He had better tastes than this.
"...let it wash away. my sanity. 'cause I wanna fe--"
Cutting the girl mid-lyric, he skipped forward, encountering yet another one of her songs. Was this some sort of joke? Alexis must be paying him back for constantly standing her up. The girl didn't understand it was for her own good though. Turning the thing off completely, he extracted the buds from his ear, wrapping the wires around the base and slipping it into his left back pocket.
During his private skating, yet another individual had appeared, and he only just then realized the number of girls at the place. Enjoying the early morning quiet like him, he assumed. It wouldn't hurt him to go make conversation though. Unless of course, they'd rather to be alone. Oh well. They could tell his ass to scram if they didn't want him around. No problem there.
Effortlessly gliding over to where three girls were grouped off -- a blonde, a brunette and a dark-haired one, he stopped moving, as soon as he was near them. "Sorry if I'm interrupting but you guys don't mind a bit more company, do you?" he asked, tilting his head ever-so-slightly to the side, the smallest of smiles present on his lips.

Darcy looked toward the guy and smiled. "The more the merrier." The last time she said that there were about five people to a two seater table. Oh well, the ice rink was pretty big.
She looked the guy over and for once in her life she wasn't attracted to him at all. Sure he had gorgeous eyes that she usually loved but there was something about him that didn’t send chills down her spine like other guys did. Maybe this would be her first guy that is just a friend to her.

Zanna, being slightly excluded from the conversation, decided simply to stay quiet. If they didn't want to talk to her, that was fine, but...they could at least let her know so she could skate away and not look like a complete idiot, standing there, not saying anything. She was trying not to seem like the stalker type, you know.
As another person approached, she glanced up at him. Before she had her own chance to answer, someone else had, so she, again, kept her mouth shut. Not feeling like...being in the group anymore, she let her eyes flutter around the rink until they came upon another girl. An alone girl. Maybe Zanna could talk to her instead. Maybe...well, she wasn't sure what else she could do but talk. Maybe make a friend? That was always nice.
Having more than one friend, that is. Sure, Zanna had friends back home, but they were back home. Not here in New York. And sure, she'd probably--well, hopefully--make friends in her classes, but...why not have some more? Glancing back to the group of people, they were still continuing on their lovely conversation. They wouldn't mind if she left, would that?
