This was so wrong. /She/ was so wrong. Ophelia was better fit for this job.. How odd. Olivia pouted slightly, as she stood next to a small pole. A red cord was connecting it to a second pole, keeping the kids in line away from the big man in red. Santa Claus. Kris Kingle. Call him whatever you want. The man looked so happy to be doing this, ho-ho'ing and giving the kids their gifts. It was cute, but she felt so out of place. She tugged at her green elf hat, which was standing sideways on her head. Her dark brown tresses fell down loosely, contrasting with the 'cheeryness' of the outfit. Red lips curled into a smirk as she saw a shy little boy advanced towards Santa. She sighed softly, putting the cord back on after having opened it for him. The brunette was wearing a long sleeved green shirt. It was a pretty ugly green too. Over it was a cropped red vest with a V-neck. The girl was also suppose to be wearing a knee-reaching red skirt over her green tights, but she'd switched it for a red mini. Hey, you had to spice up the outfit one way, right? Her name tag, which was reading 'Olivi' was on her left side. Ugh, dumbass typo. Christmas music played quietly in the speakers, as shoppers everywhere tried to hurry and get thier last-minute gifts. She loved Christma and all, but she knew she was not fit for this job. She was not high and perky like elves were suppose to be. Besides, she probably looked stupid in this outfit. ooc: I stole her outift from Elf. xD

And she spotted him. From her position atop her uncle's shoulders. It wasn't that hard a feat, being as he was so tall to begin with. And a big round man in a bright red suit and a beard as white as snow itself was not hard to miss. Gently tapping Chris on the shoulder, Kendra waited until he'd lifted his head upward to point in the appropriate direction. To be young. One could be carried wherever they wanted to go. Removing the red and green striped candycane from her lips, she asked sweetly, "Can we go visit Santa? Pleeeaaasseee?"
How could he resist? Not when she asked the question like /that/. Damn her for being so freaking adorable. Nodding lightly, Chris weaved through the patrons, emerald green and black shopping bags held in one hand. Once again he'd gotten stuck with the little imp, but he wasn't complaining. She was nice company, especially now since he was on vacation. The days got lonely when you didn't have family or someone special to spend it with. He'd prefer the former more, though.
Joining the line, he kept his secure hold on one of Kendra's legs, even though her hands were wrapped around his neck. He didn't want to drop her, as not only would she be in pain, but her mom would fly her ass from California and have his head. Looking over the heads of those before him, he took in the scenery through blue-grey eyes, noting the elf. It was when he saw people like her that he was thankful his job was as a truckdriver. Jeeze. No way would anyone get him into an elf's costume, even if he /was/ being paid for it. The costume was ridiculous, but she worked it. So kudos to her.
Moving his gaze back to the man in red, he inwardly sighed. He never did believe in Santa Claus, but he wasn't going to ruin it for Kendra. Kids needed /something/ to believe in, especially when the world stood the way it was these days. What with war, terrorism, poverty...they needed something to make their little hearts be merry. And the old guy provided that, even if he wasn't real.
Hooking a thumb into the loop of his faded blue jeans, he shifted his weight from one leg to the other. Hopefully it wouldn't take them too long to reach the front of the line. A thick, white tee shirt sat beneath a black jacket, giving him the appropriate warmth. As for his hair, it was probably more of a mess than usual with Kendra up there. Not that he cared. An appearance was just an appearance. It gave nothing away as to what was inside the person...
Stepping forward in the line as it inched a bit more forward, he looked down at the ground, trying to recall which store they were to visit after they were done here...

Olivia's ear perked up as she heard one more kid beg to see the old man. She smirked, looking back at the little girl. Cute. But then again, every little beggin' kid was cute. She also noticed the cute guy whose shoulder she was sitting on. She gave him a once-over, smiling to herself. Quickly realizing he might catch that, she looked away.
As the little boy jumped off Santa's lap, she opened the cord to let a girl in. This went pretty quickly. They sat on the Santa's lap, asked for their Christmas wish (or the game that would bring thier parent to their ruin) and jumped down, a long with a white teddy bear and a candy cane. If the parents wanted to pay ten bucks, they could have a matching picture.
She mentally cursed as the photographer told her they'd asked for a picture. The thing is, they made her be in the picture as well. Why? She was just an elf. 'Santa's Helper'. She put a sweet smile on her face, going over and standing next to the big guy.
"Say cheese."
"Cheese!" shouted the little girl, grinning widely. Olivia didn't say anything, but she smiled. And no, it wasn't one of those fake-I-hate-this smiles. It was sweet. The flash came and the picture was taken. She went back to her place, letting another little boy in, along with his sister. Kendra was next.

Removing Kendra off his shoulders once they were at the front of the line, Chris set her down on her feet, ensuring to pull down her corduroy shorts when he did. To keep her legs warm, there were leggings beneath the shorts of course. Absently threading his fingers through her loose raven curls, he wondered if she'd want a picture taken with the round guy. Probably, to remember this 'moment' in her young life.
As he waited for the little boy and his sister to be through, he looked towards the elf once again. She was a beauty, yes, but probably under eighteen. Sure looked it. He didn't know why, but he had this nagging feeling that she didn't want to do this job. Sure she was doing her job with a smile, like when she had to take the picture with the kid, but there was something, sort of hidden, which alerted him to her...discomfort? With having to dress up as an elf maybe?
"You're purdy," Kendra told the girl in the elf's costume, being the little blatant chatterbox that she was. She never sugarcoated anything, and wasn't afraid to say what she thought. "You take picture with me and uncle Chris after I speak with Santa," she informed the girl, patiently waiting for the chord to be lifted and her turn to go sit on the big guy's lap.

"You're purdy."
"Huh?" said Olivia, looking back. Her gaze went down as she noticed the little girl. Awh. Her shorts were so cute. Heh. It seemed kids today were more fashionable today than she was back when she was their age. She gave the girl a smile, suprised anyone could say she looked 'purdy' in this ridiculous outfit. "Thanks." she said, adding "I like your shorts.", as if giving back a compliment.
She nodded along as the little girl told her to take a picture with them. "Okay. I will." she said, staying with the same tone as she did with everyone. For some reason, she just didn't get all 'gaga' with little kids, nor spoke to them that way. She talked to them as if they were her age.
As the siblings scurried off, she opened the 'gate' for Kendra. "Your turn." she said, smiliing. "Promise him chocolate chip cookies. I hear thos are his favorite." she told the girl with a wink, inventing a secret only Santa and his elf would know. She close the cord, after letting Chris in. She smiled at the boy, giving him a "Hi."

Finishing off the final piece of her candy cane when the elf spoke, Kendra smiled back up at her. "Thanks. I don't like your outfit, though," she said matter-of-factly, shrugging. When she'd said the girl was pretty, she had been referring to her face. "I'll tell Santa you elves need a new wardrobe," she added, setting both palms on her small, currently still unshaped hips. Strutting through the 'gate', she made her way to Santa and hopped up on his lap, beginning a rather long conversation with him. Hey, she had a lot to say.
"Hey," Chris said back to the girl, the faintest of smiles present upon his lips. So she was friendly, but was that only a trait for the job? "Nice outfit," he smirked, stuffing both his hands into his pockets. His gaze was on Kendra, just to make sure she hadn't run off or someone didn't try to kidnap her. Never knew with all the freaks wandering about this place. "I'm Chris, by the way." He didn't even know why he introduced himself, especially since he probably wasn't going to see the chick again after that day.

"I know me neither." she said, scrunching up her nose. "These colors are /not/ complimentin'." she said, with a light chuckle. "Sounds good." she told the little girl as she strutted down to see Kris Kringle.
She looked back at the boy, who seemed shy. Or just really quiet. "Hey." she said, before realizing how dumb that sounded since she'd been the one to say 'hi'. "Oh, that was stupid." she said, laughing. "I mean, I'm Olivia." she told him, smiling. "So, she your sister?" she asked, thinking he looked like an older brother. Or maybe he was her father. Shit. If he was this, her question made it kind of awkward. "She's cute. And pretty smart." she said, looking down at her clothes. "She was right, they do look bad."

Smirking down at the girl, Chris didn't agree or disagree with her saying 'hey' again as being stupid. He actually thought it sort of funny, in a weird way, even though it didn't show on his face. "Nice to meet ya," he murmured, keeping his hands in his pockets. It wasn't an often occurence for him to shake hands with a person, not unless they'd offered their palm to him first. "Naw, not my sister. My niece actually...Kent, my eldest brother's, daughter. Yeah, she's cute," he smiled, nodding in the affirmative. "Smarter than me," he smirked, and that was probably the truth too. Not to say he was dumb, just to say she was pretty advanced. For her age, at least. Glancing towards Ophelia, he gave her a not too subtle once-over, but only because she'd said the outfit looked bad -- so he had to see for himself. "Naw. You make it look good," he said, being as blunt as his niece. Rare to get a compliment out of him, so one better appreciate it when they did.
"So, this a usual holiday job for you?" he asked, making conversation since Kendra was still busy with Santa Claus. Lord knew what they were talking about. But it was obvious the man in the suit was deeply amused.

She laughed softly as he said Kendra was probably smarter than him. Olivia glanced at him as he gave her a once-over, looking away casually for a moment. She raised a brow in surprise as he complimented her, since well, he seemed like a very quiet guy. The kind that didn't go around saying that to girls. Or maybe that was just an impression. "Thanks." she said with a smirk, "You make your outfit look good too." She suddenly realized how that made it sound that his outfit looked bad, when it didn't, and she scrunched up her nose, embarrassed. "Wait, that didn't come out right.." she said, laughing. "I mean, /you/ look good."
Wait, what?
"Well, I mean, no. Well-- You do, but.." the girl groaned, knowing how bad she was with words. At times. She was flirty like her sister, but she missed the confidence to make everything sound "sexy and cool", like Ophe said. She decided to skip this subject and answer his question. "Yeah, well.. This is like, a first-time job. I've never been an elf before." she said, smiling. "It's not so bad.. Except for outfit. And weekends. That's when it ges real crazy 'round here."

Chris Post
Smile playing about his lips at Olivia's 'blunders', so to speak, Chris slid his gaze back to her. "I know what you meant," he murmured, so she didn't have to be correcting herself so much. Going with her change of subject, since he didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable, he nodded. Hooking his thumbs into his front belt loops, he stood flat-footed, legs slightly apart -- like any other dude. "I could never be an elf," he smirked. "I'm not a person to smile so much, even if it's going to get me dough." And that was the truth; he'd never do anything that made him look stupid or cause him discontent. Only happy people did their jobs really well, after all. Well, in his experiences, at least.
A thoughtful expression crossed his face a few moments later, which caused him to settle her with a curious look. "Did you dye your hair?" he asked, small frown marring his features. Okay, that question probably sounded pretty weird, or completely random. "I mean...I think I saw you at Mercedes birthday party," he stated, trying to clear up the confusion. "And I'm sure I've seen you around town before...I blonde you though," he murmured. Maybe she had a double out there and didn't even know it.
Hearing Kendra calling her over for a photograph, he crossed his arms over his chest. "Time for you guys to get your pictures taken, it seems." He personally was not going to be in the photo, not unless Kendra asked. And she hadn't.

She smiled back, putting a strand of her hair behind her ear nervously. A shy blush came upon her cheeks, turning a rosy shade of red. "I get caught up in my words.." she muttered, smiling. "Really?" she said, acting surprised that he 'could never be an elf'. "I would totally see you in green tights." she said sarcasticall, laughing softly. She raised a brow as he mentionned her dyieing her hair.
What?
He then spoke about Mercedes party, which took her a moment to remember. Ophe dragged her to so many parties, that she could hardly keep count of them. Mercedes, that was the model girl, right? She scoffed very sfotly at her thought, thinking every girl in new York was a model nowadays. It was nothing against the girl, it's just.. It sure seemed like it. "Blonde." she repeated, finally understanding. "That was--" she was cut off by the photographer, who'd called for her. "Oh." she said, turning around walking over next to Santa.

Arching one brow, Chris semi-wrinkled his nose. "I'm glad you're joking there," he smirked, thinking that ridiculous. Not only would he look like a double from 'Robin Hood: Men In Tights', everyone would get to see the shape of his package. Just no. The only people who got to see that were those he was romantically involved with. Otherwise, they could just keep on guessing.
As she walked away to go get the picture taken, he concealed a small yawn. Normally it would probably be rather boring waiting for a kid to finish telling Santa Claus her wishes, but this time he'd had a bit of company. Nice company, actually. The girl wasn't half-bad, even though they hadn't talked that long. Plus, she seemed genuine. That was hard to say about most people about this place...
"Cheese!" Kendra called, giving a big toothy grin as the picture was taken. As they did the second one, per her request and uncle Chris' pocket, she reached up and kissed the elf on her cheek. Slipping down Santa's legs, she ran over to her uncle, tackling his leg with a big burst of speed. "Whoo. I told Santa to give you something really good for Christmas. I can't tell you what it is or it'll ruin the surprise," she informed, hopping up and down. "And ooooh. Oooohhh. Oooohhhh. Look what he gave me," she finished, showing the present and candy cane. She hadn't asked Santa to give her anything...only to give them to the other people in her family, as well as those who really needed it. Now wasn't she sweet?
"Jeeze. Almost broke my leg there," Chris smirked affectionately, but then smiled at the excitement he saw dancing within her violet eyes. She really was happy, and that of course, was all one could ever want to see.

Olivia smiled as the girl called 'Cheese!', actually smiling for real this time. Odd. I guess the young girl really brought a smile to her face, she just seemed so happy. She grinned as the flash hit, Blinking afterwards, she cleared her throat, getting ready for the second picture. Her eyes grew wide in surprise as the little gave her a kiss, but she smiled anyways. Awh. That kid was cute.
"Say Merry Christmas!" said the photographer as he took the second picture. She wathed Kendra go down and run over to her uncle. She walked back to them, smiling softly. Before the boy could have a chance to leave, she spoke up. "It was nice to meet you guys.." she said, grinning. "I'll see you around." she said, as she let another kid in. She remembered one last thing, gasping softly. "Oh! By the way, the blonde's my twin." she said with an amused smirk.

“Dude, your dung pow crap is weird.” Mercedes was shoving a plate weird looking Asian food at the man behind the counter. The man began to say something but Mercedes raised a hand and silenced him. Turing on of her red, tee strap round toe heels, Mercedes began her sort walk from the little Asian place to where Santa was, so se could begin her shift, which actually started 30 minutes ago. Even if you couldn’t see her face, you could tell it was Mercedes, because of the slight changes she had made to the wardrobe. Instead of the weird looking uniform they had given her, she had decided on a green mini skirt, made of the same material as her old uniform so the colors matched. A red cami top hugged her torso, and a matching green cropped jacket and atop her head sat a red hat with the words ‘Santa’s Fashionable Helper’ written in glitter across the top. Oh, yes. She only made slight changes.
So, why in the world was she still working here? We’re not entirely sure, but quite a few more pictures had been snapped since she been hired. And then who would want to see the spoiled and irresponable Mercedes Tritoni coming to make a fool of her self at work? Many, many, my dear.
As she approached the section where Santa was seated, Mercedes jumped over the small gate in the back, and seated in front of the tree that served a the big man’s background.
“So, yeah, I’m here. Did Ally clock me in?” Mercedes asked to anyone who could answer, then quickly grabbed one of the candy cane’s and shoved it into her mouth.

Taking hold of one of Kendra's hands, he watched her pop the candy cane into her mouth, small fingers wrapped around the arch. He knew he'd have a hyper kid on his hands later, but that'd be when he'd give her to her father again. Focusing on Oliva, he nodded with a small smile. "It was nice to meet you too," he murmured, hearing Kendra echo that statement. He was wondering when they'd be able to get the pictures, as he hadn't really been paying attention to what type of camera the photographer was using. Instant? Or something that'd need to be developed later? Maybe Olivia or the guy would provide him with that information before he left. Standard prodedure, no?
"Ohhh, that'd explain it," he nodded in realization, just then noticing Miss Tritoni herself. Was she working here? Naw...it was probably some charity thing. Or not. He couldn't be too sure. And someone certainly put quite the spin on the elf's constume. It made him smirk a little bit, for that was just Mercedes for a person. "As for seeing me around," he began, looking at Olivia. "Maybe we can meet up for coffee or something?"
